Frequently asked questions

Marine PPF and window tinting questions, answered

Everything owners, captains, homeowners and property managers usually ask before booking an appointment with Premier Surface Protection.

What is marine paint protection film?

Marine paint protection film is a clear, self-healing urethane film that is cut and applied over gelcoat, painted topsides, transoms and high-contact hardware areas. It takes the abrasion, docking scuffs, salt spray and UV exposure that would otherwise reach the finish underneath, and it can be removed by a professional when it reaches the end of its service life.

What warranty comes with your marine protection work?

Our marine surface protection carries a three-year warranty. We will confirm exactly what is covered for your vessel in writing before installation begins.

Which products do you install?

We work with XPEL products, including XPEL Ultimate Plus surface protection film and XPEL window film for homes and offices. Premier Surface Protection is listed on the XPEL installer locator for the Miami area.

Do you tint homes and offices, or only vehicles and vessels?

Our architectural work is focused on buildings: residential glass in houses, condominiums and penthouses, and commercial glass in offices, lobbies, storefronts and amenity spaces. Window film is installed on existing glass, so there is no need to replace windows.

Where do you work in South Florida?

We are based in Miami and serve Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County. Marine work is typically performed where the vessel is berthed or hauled; architectural work is performed on site at the property.

Do you have a showroom I can walk into?

No. Premier Surface Protection operates by appointment only. Our business address is 12150 SW 132nd Court #213, Miami, FL 33186, and consultations are scheduled by phone or email.

How do I get a quote?

Call (786) 917-8720 or send your project details to info@premiersurfaceprotection.com. Pricing depends on the vessel or glass area, surface condition, access and film selection, so we quote after we have seen the project or reviewed detailed photos and measurements.

Can protective film be applied to stone countertops?

Yes. XPEL Ultimate Plus surface protection can be applied to countertops to guard against stains, scratches and etching. It is also anti-microbial and enhances the finish of the stone. This is a common request on yacht galleys and dining surfaces as well as in residences.

Will window film change how my home looks from the street?

That depends on the film selected. Options range from nearly neutral, low-reflectivity films that preserve the appearance of the glass to darker or more reflective films that add privacy. During the consultation we review samples against your glass and your building or HOA requirements.

Does window film help with heat and fading?

Architectural window film is designed to reject a portion of solar heat and ultraviolet light, which reduces glare and slows the fading of floors, art and furnishings. The exact performance depends on the film and the glass it is applied to, so we match the film to the exposure of each elevation rather than quoting one number for every window.

How long does an installation take?

It depends entirely on scope. A single room of glass or a galley countertop is usually a short visit; full topsides film on a yacht is a staged project planned around haul-out or dock availability. We give you a schedule with the quote.

How should I care for the film after installation?

Wash with a mild, non-abrasive soap and clean water, avoid pressure washing directly at film edges, and skip solvent-heavy or abrasive cleaners. We provide care guidance specific to the film installed on your project.
