The brief
The same walls of glass that sell a waterfront residence or a corner office turn rooms into heat traps by mid-afternoon. Screens wash out, seating areas go unused, air conditioning runs harder, and ultraviolet light works steadily on floors, rugs, art and joinery.
Architectural window film is retrofitted to the glass you already have. There is no glazing replacement, no structural work and no permit-scale disruption — the film is installed on site, room by room or elevation by elevation.
What film addresses
Film rejects a portion of the solar energy hitting the glass, which takes the edge off hot rooms and the temperature swing between shaded and sun-facing spaces. How much depends on the film and the glass, which is why we assess each elevation rather than quoting one number.
Reduced glare makes screens readable in a glass-walled office and makes a west-facing living room usable in the late afternoon without closing every shade.
Ultraviolet light is a primary driver of fading in timber floors, textiles, art and cabinetry. Window film is designed to block the large majority of it.
